 MEATLESS MONDAYS

Thanks to Bzzagent, I recently got to try the new Morning Star Farms Griller Originals. They are meatless hamburgers. I know, I know..  juicy beefy hamburgers are the staple of most BBQ's or Fast Food meals. But you will just have to believe me, these burgers are even better.

As you can see, this burger looks as juicy and delicious as any old cowburger does. But it is so much healthier for us to set aside one day a week to eat meatless. I make my Mondays my meatless day. These burgers are great for those who fast during Lent. You can still have that wonderful burger fest and keep your commitment not to eat meat.

There are several different varieties of Morning Star Farms products. My favorites are the Griller Originals and the Spicy Black Bean Burger. The Black Bean Burger has a little bit of a kick to it with a slightly Southwestern flavor.

You might want to try this burger as a salad ingredient. Here is the recipe for
Black Bean Veggie Burger Salad.

INGREDIENTS

1 bag (5 oz) organic herb mix salad
2 MorningStar Farms® Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burgers
2 oz low-fat feta cheese
2 oz dried cranberries
poppyseed or raspberry vinagrette dressing

DIRECTIONS
Place salad mix in large bowl. Prepare veggie burgers according to directions and cut into bite-size pieces. Add veggie burger pieces to salad mix. Sprinkle feta cheese, cranberries and pecans over mix. Drizzle with poppy seed or raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Toss and enjoy!
